This Site Provides Open Access to the Final Draft of this Book

The University of Chicago Press, which published The Intellectual Properties of Learning: A Prehistory from Saint Jerome to John Locke in January 12th, 2018, has agreed to making the final draft of the book open access as an experiment in light of the book's themes. 

Note that the final draft, which resulted from rounds of peer review and revision, differs at many points from the published text, which benefited from the press' skillfully copyediting (involving my further revisions) and from my and others' proofreading. Those unable to obtain a copy of the book may wish to cite and reference the draft as follows:
